Journal on Excellence in College Teaching

  • Journal on Excellence in College Teaching
This journal is not indexed in any of Phillips Library's databases!! It must be accessed separately via the link above.

The Journal on Excellence in College Teaching (ISSN 1052-4800) is a quarterly, peer-reviewed journal published at Miami University by and for faculty at universities and two- and four-year colleges to increase student learning through effective teaching, interest in and enthusiasm for the profession of teaching, and communication among faculty about their classroom experiences. It answers Ernest Boyer's (1990) call for a forum to present the scholarship of teaching and learning. The Journal provides a scholarly, written forum for discussion by faculty about all areas affecting teaching and learning, and gives faculty the opportunity to share proven, innovative pedagogies and thoughtful, inspirational insights about teaching.

How To Find Journals

If you don't see your subject area listed on one of the tabs go to Find Articles.  Change the drop-down box from the default, which is Title Begins, to Title Contains all Words.  In the box where you search for a journal title, enter the name of your subject area and the word education.  You will get a list of journal titles containing those search terms.  Please also contact Dr. Nancy Mactague and ask her to add journals for your subject area.  These pages are expanded regularly.

    My favorite place to be:
Rome, Italy, especially the Cloister of Bramante for a glass of wine (Honest! The second floor has a little restaurant.)
