Where to start with OER?

Phillips Library Support

OER simply means content that can be reused without obtaining permission; it is a specific publishing model that allows for sharing. There is a plethora of OER available. Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, many traditional publishers are also offering their content free to academic libraries.

Librarians are here to help you find resources for your curriculum. Don't hesitate to reach out with any questions.

Tips for Getting Started

  • Start small - choose one book or learning activity to try with your class
  • "Review" a textbook - choose one OER textbook in your field and evaluate it. No pushy salespeople will contact you!
  • Explore the different OER by format compiled by your librarians.
