The Learning Commons Staff

Meet The Learning Commons Staff!

Our staff is here 30 hours a week in order to help you with your library, research, and tutoring needs. Trained Library Commons Assistants can help you check out books, find research materials, study for an exam, or write that paper you've been putting off. If you are interested in seeking out some assistance, please email us at gwccommons@gwc.aurora.edu or simply visit us during our posted hours.

For those interested in our tutoring resources, please include the following information in your email: the course or project that you need assistance with, your professor, the times that you have available, and any tutor or research assistant preference.  If you include this information within your initial email, it will allow for the best possible service.

Lexi McNeil

Well, Hello hello hello!!!!

I'm Lexi and I am a Senior Psychology major and TA (Teacher Assistant) for a General Psychology class here at GWC.  I am a Learning Commons Research Assistant and I am here to help you. My duties are to help you with any type of research, navigation of the Learning Commons, and tutoring help. I specialize in tutoring Psychology but if you need help with any other subjects, I can send you in the right direction. So if you need any help or have any questions, just ask me! The hours that I am available are Monday from 10-1pm,Tuesday from 12-4pm, Wednesday from 10-1pm and Friday from 10-1pm. But if you need help and  during other hours, just let me know and I might be able to help you out. Hope you have a wonderful year and keep studying!!!

Hello!

My name is Baylee and I am a current junior at GWC majoring in Human Ecology with a minor in Psychology. Working in the Learning Commons as an assistant, I have the privilege of helping students with any questions or concerns they have in regards to writing, homework assignments, computer programs, presentations, or even studying for exams. Some specific areas that I specialize in includes writing tutoring, first year history and Media & Technology. I am available on Monday from 8-10am,Tuesday from 8-10am, Wednesday from 8-10am;4-7pm and Friday from 8-9am or by appointment if necessary. If you are in need of any assistance feel free to schedule an appointment. I will assist you to the best of my abilities, and if I do not have the answer I will point you in the direction of someone who does.

Dr. Meredith Harvey

Hello. I am the Tutoring Center Coordinator, as well as a tutor. I teach courses in literature, writing, design, and environmental humanities. I have many years experience working as a writing tutor and ESL tutor, and am happy to work with students in need of assistance. While I am happy to work with all students, my schedule will prioritize graduate students and English second Language Speakers at this time. If you are a student in need of assistance, my hours are as follows: Mondays from 4-7pm, Tuesday from 4-6pm and Thursday from 9-11am by appointment only. If these hours do not work with yours, please still inquire and the Learning Commons staff will do everything they can to help you.

Kathy Clark

Hello! I am the information services librarian for GWC, Kathy Clark. While my office is located on the Aurora Campus I travel to GWC to provide library instruction to classes. I will also be on the GWC campus on select Tuesdays throughout the semester. You have access to thousands of eBooks and hundreds of thousands of electronic journal articles.
