Inter-Library Loan

Inter-Library Loan allows library users to borrow items that Aurora University does not have from other libraries. This makes millions of articles, books, and other materials available to you upon request.

I-Share & Tipasa

Aurora University belongs to a consortium of over 90 academic libraries in Illinois called I-Share. In addition, we have access to the Tipasa interlibrary loan system which connects us to hundreds of libraries across the country.

Books owned by other I-Share libraries can be seamlessly borrowed from within Spartan Search or your I-Share account. Articles and other books can be requested with Tipasa from within Spartan Search or directly through your Tipasa account.

All current AU students, faculty, and staff can access their accounts here:

Tipasa Policies

Interlibrary loan services (ILL) are available to current students, faculty, staff and emeritus faculty.  Phillips Library ILL services are governed by:

Phillips library pays the fees incurred by lending institutions as well as the Copyright Clearance Center. Patrons may request:
  • 1 article from a single issue published in the last 5 years
  • 5 articles per any journal published in the last 5 years

Patrons will be notified if a specific request contains copyright restrictions that may prevent it from being obtained through ILL or if a request exceeds the fee limit. Patrons may have the option to purchase articles that are not fully covered by Phillips Library.

Exceptions to this rule are extended to faculty and doctoral students only. Please consult with your library liaison for more details on how to obtain articles.
