1. How can I setup for a library account?
A: After obtaining an alumni card from the Alumni Office, come to Phillips Library and ask to setup an library account as an alumni. You must show library staff your alumni card. You will be handed a document where you will need to fill in your personal information. This includes:
The librarian that creates library accounts for alumni is usually available from 8-4:30 a.m. Monday through Friday. If you visit the library outside these hours, your account will be set up the next business day. Please expect an introductory email with your username and password to login the library catalog.
2. How many items can I check out from the library?
A: Alumni can borrow up to 6 items. 4 Books and 2 DVDs.
3. I am unable to check out materials even though I have less than 6 items active on my account.
A: Items on your account may be overdue. Having 2 or more overdue items will place a block on your account. Contact docdel@aurora.edu for assistance.
4. I've forgotten my username and password to my library account. How do I reset it?
A: You will need to come to the library and request access to your account. Please make sure to bring a photo ID and your alumni card to reset your password.
5. I forgot to bring my Alumni card. Can I still access the library's computers?
A: Due to our licensing with library vendors, we cannot grant patrons access to Phillips Library electronic resources without proof of affiliation with Aurora University. We will only grant 1 grace allowance to our computers in the event you do not bring your Alumni card. You must show us an identification card.
6. I noticed under my Personal Details in my library account, my contact information needs to be updated. How can I change it?
A: To update your personal details, we recommend calling, Mariah Tennell, at 630-844-7533 or stopping by the library so we can update your information.
