How to make a tutoring appointment

Here's a visual step-by-step Guide for making a tutoring appointment.

Text ONLY version:

  1. Go to Academic SupportNet (found on the Okta app)
  2. Log in with your institutional username and credentials (for example jdoebert not jdoebert@aurora.edu, and the same password you use for Okta). If it's your first time visiting, you'll be prompted to complete a registration form.
  3. Select a schedule from the drop-down menu at the top. Tutors on the "Writing and Academic Coaching" calendar can help at any point of the essay-writing process, from brainstorming to final touches. Academic Coaches can work with you to develop additional study strategies, time management tools, and effective approaches for note-taking and getting the most out of course readings. Tutors on the "Course Content" calendars can help with course concepts, problem-solving processes, and developing a study plan for a particular course. Be sure to check if there's tutoring for your course on both the "Peer Tutoring" and "Content Specialist tutoring" calendars.
  4. Important: choose a "Purpose of Visit." This is how you find the right tutor for the class you need.
  5. White boxes are open time slots, 30 minutes each. Appointments are typically 1 hour, so you need two white boxes.
  6. Click on the first white box and enter appointment details in the pop-up window. Then click "Create Appointment" at the bottom.
  7. You're all set! For Zoom appointments: open your blue appointment box to access the Zoom link. For an in-person appointment, check in at the front desk of Phillips Library

How many appointments can I make?

  • Students are allowed two appointments per week per calendar. (For example, a student could make two appointments on the Writing/Academic Coaching calendar, two appointments on the Subject Specialist Tutoring calendar, and two appointments on the Subject Peer Tutoring Calendar).

  • Appointments can be made up to two weeks in advance.

  • The peer tutoring schedule requires that students make an appointment at least one day in advance. Appointments with Professional Staff can be made up to ten minutes beforehand.
