What can your Phillips Library liaison do for you?

  • Provide high quality information literacy instruction (how to locate, access and use information) to your students via a classroom session
  • Provide one-on-one research help or database searching strategies to your students by appointment
  • Create assignment specific guides for your research assignments that can be embedded directly into Moodle
  • Take requests for additions to Phillips Library collections
  • Provide feedback on curriculum change forms required by faculty senate
  • Compile lists of resources Phillips Library already owns that are useful for your courses
  • Research assistance for your own research projects or articles

How to Schedule

Contact your library liaison to request an information literacy session. These sessions can include:

  • Overview of library resources
  • Detailed instruction on using subject-specific databases
  • Step-by-step assistance with the research process

When you contact your library liaison, please provide

  • Course name and number
  • Requested dates of instruction
  • Number of students in the class
  • A copy of the research assignment or syllabus

Phillips Library provides face-to-face instruction or electronic instruction through Phillips Library Virtual Room (via WebEx) to all AU locations and cohorts.

Assignment Specific Guides

Your library liaison can create an assignment specific course guide that incorporates Phillips Library resources for your students. These course guides can be added to Moodle using the friendly-url or embedded into your Moodle course.
