There are many government agencies, education institutions, and other organizations that publish data and statistics on the Internet.  Listed here are a few to get you started.  Remember:

Data = Sets of collected information, measurements, etc. that you can analyze to make interpretations and conclusions.  Data is used to develop statistics.

Statistics = Quick facts or numbers on a topic.  Statistics generally come from data sets that have already been analyzed.
